Human Rights Watch has asked the International Cricket Council to suspend the membership of the Afghanistan national cricket team.
Minki Worden, head of the Global Initiative at HRW, said in a statement that this request was made because of the Taliban’s restrictions on women and girls.
Miss Worden said that International Cricket Council should suspend Afghanistan, which is ruled by the Taliban, from being a member of the council and participating in international cricket matches.
Before we talk about Ms. Worden’s reasons and justifications, it is necessary to remember why and on what goals the Human Rights Watch organization was founded and which points make up the basic lines of its activity:
Human Rights Watch headquarter is in New York City and has offices in Brussels, London, Moscow, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, Tashkent and Toronto.
This organization has declared its goal to defend the rights of people all over the world and has stated on its official website that:
Their job is to carefully investigate actions against human rights and expose them widely.
Hundreds of people, including human rights experts, lawyers, journalists and scientists from all over the world, including different backgrounds, are continuously working in this organization.
This organization also writes on its official page about itself and its activities that:
HRW is a non-profit, non-governmental human rights organization known for accurate fact-finding, impartial reporting, effective use of media and targeted advocacy, often in partnership with local human rights groups… HRW Every year, it publishes more than a hundred reports and justifications about the conditions of human rights in dozens of countries around the world.
HRW, in cooperation with governments, the United Nations, the African Union, etc., is trying to bring about changes in policies and actions that promote human rights and justice around the world.
An organization with such goals and content suggests that the membership of the Afghanistan national cricket team in the World Cricket Council be suspended in order to serve humanity and provide human rights in the world.
people of Afghanistan and our region are familiar with these kind of jokes.
Mullah Nasreddin’s fame is mostly in the fact that he relates every work to another work, and a famous expression is quoted from him that (he gets up from chatter)
This organization wants Afghan women to study and work freely, and to achieve this, it suggests to the World Cricket Council that Afghan national players should bring pride to their people in the fields of the world.
If the Human Rights Watch really misses Afghan women, it should contact the government authorities and make sure through diplomatic activities that Afghan women are not deprived of their right to education and work. In addition, this organization should increase the fields of work and training for women, not to exclude cricket players from sports fields.
It follows from this decision that Human Rights Watch does not work for the freedom of women but to destroy the pride of Afghanistan because this organization is not a humanitarian organization.
